Project Description

Allied Irish Banks is one of the so-called Big Four commercial banks in Ireland. AIB offers a full range of personal and corporate banking services including international banking and treasury operations as well as a range of general insurance products such as home, travel, and health insurance.

AIB consolidated their online presence on top of a leading content management system, on premise and with a self-trained and in-house team. After few years of in-life operations and on-going solution development, their platform became hard-to-maintain, and development costly and slow. The IT senior management team was seeking a partner to validate and strengthen their digital capabilities with an independent and constructive appraisal, augment their workforce with technology experts while transitioning to a new delivery model, and help them scale delivery capabilities through outsourcing of some of the business demand.

Along with my team, we undertook the assessment of the AIB’s digital platform and delivered a set of improvement recommendations, presented a roadmap to build continuous integration and deployment foundations, supported the team’s architects and technical leads in taking key architectural decisions and delivering critical releases, as well as successfully ran the refresh and rebuilt of their Car Dealer Portal and associated market service offering.

As a strategic, onshore and nearshore delivery partner, we have helped AIB’s technology arm responds to their growing business demand in a time of uncertainty and radical change in the organisation, design new practices to accelerate delivery and increase overall quality, and reinforce their leading position in the Car Dealer market with innovative Hire Purchase and PCP application processes.
